Does RedemptionBase need internet to run?
The licensed app is designed to work offline after it has been installed and verified. Internet is still useful for updates and other online resources. The public evaluation copy is online-only.
Is RedemptionBase just a website in a browser?
No. The licensed version is delivered as an installable Progressive Web App (PWA). The browser is used to install it, but after installation you normally open RedemptionBase from its own desktop, Start-menu or Home Screen icon. The public evaluation copy is intentionally browser-only and online-only.
Can I install RedemptionBase on a phone, tablet or computer?
Yes. The licensed version is a Progressive Web App (PWA). On supported desktop and Android browsers you can install it as an app; on iPhone and iPad you add it to the Home Screen from Safari. It then launches from its own icon instead of needing to stay open in a normal browser tab. Device capabilities differ: automatic external-folder safety backup is only offered where the browser supports folder access, while Full Backup remains available on every device.
Can I move my center from a phone to a computer?
Yes. Create a Full Backup on the first device, then restore that backup into RedemptionBase on the other device. Restore replaces the destination center state; it does not merge two devices that were both used independently.
Does RedemptionBase keep my shop records on its server?
Normal operational data is designed to remain on your device. Website and update requests may create ordinary server logs, but RedemptionBase does not automatically upload your transaction database, employee records, accounts, drawer records or pickup history to a central RedemptionBase database.
What happens if browser/site data gets cleared?
RedemptionBase includes local recovery layers and a Restore Existing Center path before setup. On devices whose browser supports folder access, an automatic external safety-backup folder can also be connected so a recovery copy exists outside browser storage. On iPhone/iPad and other platforms without that capability, Full Backup is the portable off-device recovery path. Installing RedemptionBase to the Home Screen also gives the app stronger storage treatment than leaving it as an ordinary browser tab.
Does the Maine DEP lookup tell employees what bottles to accept?
No. It reports what the loaded official registration data contains. It is a reference tool, not a legal determination that a container must be accepted or refused.
Can multiple computers use the same center at the same time?
The current licensed design is one active operating workstation per center at a time. A center can move its data between devices using backup and restore, but RedemptionBase is not currently a live multi-terminal sync system.
Can I give my accountant a spreadsheet?
Shop Stats can export a clean CSV summary for the selected year, including the major purchased, shipped, processing and operational figures tracked by the app.
Who built RedemptionBase?
RedemptionBase was created by a Maine redemption center owner to solve the day-to-day workflow problems encountered in an actual center. The goal is practical software for operators, not generic accounting software repackaged for redemption.
